The brief
Two small rooms, one long table and a lot of books. The owners wanted to cook and eat in the same room without giving up a single shelf.
What we built
We took down the wall between kitchen and dining room on a new steel, lifted the old floor for underfloor heating, and opened the ceiling up to the rafters. Graham’s team made the units in our workshop: painted shaker doors, solid oak worktops, and an island deep enough to hide the dishwasher.

How the money went
Agreed at £58,900. The worktop run grew by a metre and a half to reach the window, which added £1,450. Final account £60,350, twelve weeks from first strip-out to handover.
